BBT Signatures

Dal Fry

Simplicity and goodness in every bite, characterize our famous Dal Fry. A staple in most Indian homes, and one that requires no introduction, our Dal Fry is the culmination of a homegrown recipe perfected over several years – our take on the traditional yellow dal. Using precise quantities of red chillies and other spices that lend that zingy ‘tadka’ to our dal, we balance it out with a generous dollop of flavorful butter. The resulting dish has an unmatched, mouthwatering taste, that reminds you of home. What’s more, it is prepared 4 times a day to ensure ultimate freshness. A fan favourite BBT dish, it is not unusual to see this ever-popular dish at every table at our various restaurant outlets!

Phulka

If clouds were edible, they may still not be able to compare with the softness of our phulkas! Similar to the ‘roti’, a staple of every Indian’s daily diet, our phulkas are softer and thinner, prepared in the authentic Sindhi way of serving them piping hot, and saturated with ghee or butter – absolutely irresistible.! Our wheat is sourced all the way from Madhya Pradesh, for it’s premium quality. These buttery soft, flaky phulkas are a marvellous upgrade of home cooked chapatis, and are no doubt, a favourite of all our customers, as they perfectly compliment all our sabzis and dals.

Kutchi Beer

When people come to Bhagat Tarachand, the one thing they can’t get enough of, is our ‘Kutchi Beer’. 30 years ago, in our constant endeavour to introduce new concepts, we decided to start serving the ever-popular chaas drink in beer bottles, and hence it was named Kutchi Beer. Needless to say, the concept really caught on, and ever since, has been one of our best sellers. We pay special attention to the consistency of our chaas, to give it just the right amount of body and spice. This cooling drink is the perfect accompaniment, to the variety of subtle but delicious spices that feature in our food.

Papad Churi

A highlight of our menu here at Bhagat Tarachand, is our best-selling snack – Papad Churi. Originated and created in these very kitchens, the Papad Churi is a crunchy snack comprised of crushed papads, melded together with a delicious combination of butter and spices. The Papad Churi’s reputation really precedes itself, as it is usually ordered by our patrons before they even glance at the menu! This crunchy delight is always served fresh. Two other variants of the Papad Churi made available, are Khicha and Khich Churi, made with a rice papad variety that originates in Gujarat.

Thali

While not a BBT Signature, our Thali is revered by our patrons. Mumbai’s love for food manifests itself gloriously in the many thali restaurants across the city, that serve a set menu typically comprising of Gujarati and Maharashtrian food,. However, we, at Bhagat Tarachand, are amongst the few, who bring to you an authentic Punjabi thali. A great option for foodies who like to experiment with new vegetable preparations, each thali serves up three mouthwatering subzis, our staple dal, chaas – the ultimate cooler, rice, a sweet dish, our soft phulkas, finished with perfectly crunchy papad. In our attempt to keep our meals exciting, while delighting our customers’ taste buds, we have a rotating sabzi menu, so we can always give them something to look forward to!

“If you’re at one of our outlets, make sure to try our BBT Signatures – we guarantee you’ll be back for more!”
